Del Monte is looking for a Technical Service Scientist based in Monaco for a permanent position for its Europe and Africa Quality Department.

Reporting to the Director Quality Assurance Food, the successful candidate will have to assist the R&D team in various missions:

  • Conduct food safety audits of contract packers for vendor evaluation and certification.
  • Support technical desk studies and vendor ratings for supplier approval.
  • Assist with QC activities: inspections, sensory evaluations, mock recalls, traceability, and documentation.
  • Provide QA/technical support for product development and packaging review.
  • Maintain compliance documentation and certifications (Organic, Environmental, Logistical).
  • Coordinate with sales, marketing, and distribution for regulatory and technical matters.
  • Support internal QC teams across Del Monte facilities.
  • Handle consumer complaints and supervise documentation control.
  • Build strong interdepartmental relationships and mentor staff

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s in food science/food engineering
  • Certified IRCA FSMS Auditor (ISO 19011, ISO 22000, ISO/IEC 17021 standards)
  • 7-10 years in QA/QC at large food/beverage facilities
  • Specialized in fruit/vegetable thermal processing
  • Conducted GFSI-recognized audits (BRC, FSMA, IFS, FSSC 22000)
  • Experienced in first, second, and third-party FSMS audits
  • Strong understanding of HACCP, PRPs (ISO/TS 22002-1), and risk-based auditing
  • Internal auditor for hygiene, sanitation, allergens, and risk assessments
  • Author of detailed audit reports and corrective action reviews
  • Familiar with regulatory standards (EU/UK food laws, packaging compliance)
  • Knowledge of sustainability and ethical sourcing frameworks (Organic, Halal, Vegan, Rainforest Alliance, Global.GAP, etc.)
  • Skilled in packaging material safety, recyclability, and traceability
