Del Monte (France) is seeking a Manager, Sales (Fresh – Southern France) for its Sales Department, on a permanent contract, starting in ASAP.

Reporting to the Sales Director (Fresh) based in our Orly offices, you will assist with various tasks:

  • Participate in the development of the annual sales plan.
  • Develop sales and margins on products marketed by Del Monte
  • Manage fruit purchases (allocations) within the group for DEL MONTE FRANCE in order to be able to fulfill customer orders.
  • Sell fresh products on the French market in accordance with the annual strategy.
  • Implement the commercial and marketing strategy, under the supervision of the Commercial Director (Setting up of events, promotions, etc.)
  • Being in constant contact with prospects and customers, especially key accounts, and being proactive in the sale of fresh DEL MONTE products
  • Prospect new customers (wholesalers, supermarkets, etc.)
  • Manage customer complaints and ensure the administrative follow-up of each file – Ensure the proper payment of orders
  • Provide competitive intelligence
  • Follow-up of stocks and actions when needed
  • Project management: development of sales in a new commercial area (South)
  • Ensure the management of employees integrated into the same project (logistics, quality..)
  • Comply with internal Del Monte policies.

Prerequisites:

  • At least 10 years of experience. in the fruit trade – excellent knowledge of the market
  • Very good knowledge of the commercial circuit and relations with supermarkets
  • Good standard of spoken and written French and English language skills.
  • Proven track record in a customer facing sales/marketing environment. Proven experience of retail pricing, promotional pricing, cost price increase negotiation, as well as contract extension negotiations.
  • Demonstrate a clear knowledge and understanding of the product category.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrates clear communication skills and is at ease and confident in discussion, even in hostile environments. Being a team player, able to interface and influence across the various internal departments.
  • Commercially astute, able to evaluate financial scenario’s, with the aim of steering profitability. Must be able to prove understanding, and implementation of promotional knowledge, Hi/Lo strategy, and the return on investment of promotional funding: in brand and own label.
  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Presentation Skills, demonstrates structure in presenting business proposals.
  • A flexible approach to working. Expected to travel on Company business and it is also anticipated that the job holder will be required to stay away from home.
