We are looking for an Office Assistant based in Lisbon, Portugal, who will perform a multi-function support task, including general office duties to ensure Iberia employees have everything they need to focus on their missions. This may include providing support to Spanish and Portuguese offices, the Company Headquarter of the Region; and external correspondents.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Ensure administrative tasks regarding Iberia’s offices: Office Services Contract Management (water, electricity, and other utilities), Contract Lifecycle Management, Food Contract Management.
  • Being in charge of the collection and distribution of mail so that no business remains pending due to mail delay. Shipment of urgent documents and prepare packages for sending products samples with express mail.
  • Support the General Manager Iberia on various assignments.
  • Providing assistance with TNE forms (Travel and Expense).
  • Coordinating car rental services.
  • Ensuring compliance with HACCP standards.
  • Supporting marketing activities.
  • Overseeing data protection requirements.
  • Liaising with IT support for operational needs.
  • Ordering stationery – and others office needs – contact with suppliers if needed in order to allow each team member to work easily.
  • Hotel booking, plane, taxi booking, assistance in general to travelers to centralize requests and be sure team members can honor their appointments in compliance with the laws of the country.
  • Being the first phone contact of Del Monte Portugal.
  • Welcome office visitors (suppliers, customers, etc..) to provide a well image of our company to any internal or external visitors who come to our offices.
  • Organize participation to Company exhibitions and events.
  • Search gifts for occasions for the Company Employees (Christmas, Easter…), select restaurant for special celebrations and negotiate prices.

Reporting to the Director of Food Quality Assurance, the successful candidate will support the R&D team across a range of responsibilities:

  • Provide cross-functional support to commercial, marketing, packaging, design, and customer teams.
  • Manage technical/customer queries and supervise the completion of product questionnaires with factories and contract packers.
  • Submit finalized documentation and ensure accurate artwork translation.
  • Review labels and packaging for regulatory compliance (e.g. allergens, claims, nutrition, weights, mandatory information).
  • Ensure adherence to EU/UK legislation throughout product development.
  • Conduct FIC compliance checks and advise on authorized formulations and claims.
  • Assess and validate packaging materials in line with EU and UK harmonized regulations.
  • Provide guidance on plastics, recycled materials, bisphenol A, epoxy derivatives, and intelligent packaging.
  • Monitor regulatory updates and manage technical documentation proactively.
  • Conduct HACCP, TACCP, VACCP, and GMP audits at internal and external sites.
  • Perform food safety risk assessments and produce detailed reports.
  • Maintain product specifications and certificates in line with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Archive audit reports, organize sample shipments, request external analysis, and prepare QA documentation.
  • Lead production sample evaluations and competitor benchmarking.
  • Organize sensory panels (NPD) and draft formal evaluation reports.
  • Advise on regulatory compliance of NPD prototypes and support their refinement.
  • Maintain supplier QA folders, certification databases, and approved vendor lists.
  • Review and summarize external QA documentation through technical desk studies.
  • Plan and conduct food safety audits of contract manufacturers.
  • Execute GAP analysis, horizon scanning, and risk assessments.
  • Support factory QC teams on HACCP plans and GMP procedures.
  • Maintain packaging information database (PIF for each SKU).
  • Contribute to organic certifications for fresh and processed food categories.
  • Oversee complaints, mock recalls, and document control.
  • Compile weekly quality reports and mentor junior QA staff

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Food Engineering or Food Science.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of QA experience in the food industry, particularly in canning and aseptic processing.
  • Strong knowledge of EU/UK food regulations and practical business implications.
  • Expertise in labelling compliance under FIC Regulation, including nutrition and health claims.
  • Experience in converting international labels (MENA/US to EU/UK formats).
  • IRCA-certified Food Safety Auditor (ISO 22003/17021).
  • Skilled in HACCP, TACCP, VACCP, GMP, PRP, GAP analysis, and strategic regulatory monitoring.
  • Conducts GFSI-standard audits (BRC, IFS, FSSC22000), internal and external.
  • Expertise in FCM regulations, plastics legislation, and post-Brexit compliance.
  • Knowledge of CSRD, EPR, and sustainability/social responsibility systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experienced in SOP implementation, QA process management, and vendor oversight.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Willingness to travel regularly for audits and technical support
